Mets minor leaguer Connor Buchmann receives 50-game suspension
Mets minor league RHP Connor Buchmann has received a 50-game suspension for the use of an amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, Major League Baseball announced on Thursday.
Buchmann, 22, was drafted by the Mets in the 11th round of the 2014 first-year player draft. He appeared in only seven games for Kingsport (R) in the Appalachian League in 2015, allowing 20 hits and 19 walks with 18 earned runs allowed in only 11 2/3 innings.
Buchmann has appeared in only 16 games as a professional since being drafted, having never played above rookie ball.
