Dominic Smith named a 2015 Arizona League Fall-Star

Dominic Smith 1 slice

BaronBy any measure, Mets first base prospect Dominic Smith has had a breakout season in the Mets minor league system.

He won the Florida State League Player of the Year award in 2015 after hitting .305/.354/.417 with six home runs and 79 RBI in 118 games. He missed time at the end of the season with a minor shoulder injury.

And that success has translated to a tremendous run through the Arizona Fall League in 2015 as well.

He is sixth in the AFL with a .400 batting average and a 1.132 OPS, he’s second in the league with 12 walks and a .542 on-base percentage, and 17th with a .571 slugging percentage.

For his efforts, Smith has been named an Arizona Fall League Fall Star in 2015, and will participate in the league’s All-Star Game this Saturday, November 7 at 8:08 pm ET at Salt River Field at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Smith, 20, is ranked as the Mets fifth-best prospect according to MLB.com.

This kid can flat-out hit. His defensive skill at first base is above average. We need more players like him to support a stellar pitching staff at the MLB level. D-Smith is our starting 1st baseman for the 2017 season.

Nice respond in return of this difficulty with solid arguments and telling the whole thing about that.
