Curtis Granderson, Yoenis Cespedes (AL) named Gold Glove finalists
The 2015 Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalists were announced on Thursday morning, and both Curtis Granderson and Yoenis Cespedes have been named finalists at their respective positions.
Granderson will be challenged by Bryce Harper and Jason Heyward for the honor in right field.
Granderson was second in the National League with 12 defensive runs saved (DRS) and third with a 5.7 ultimate zone rating (UZR), trailing Heyward in both categories. He had the fourth-most assists from right field with nine and committed five errors.
Meanwhile, Cespedes is not contending for a National League Gold Glove, rather he is being recognized for his work while with the Tigers in the American League. He will be challenged by Brett Gardner and Alex Gordon for the honor in left field.
Cespedes led all American League left fielders with 11 DRS and a 15 UZR. He was second among AL outfielders with nine outfield assists while committing five errors with the Tigers in 2015.
