Yoenis Cespedes received cortisone shot in shoulder, to workout on Saturday
Yoenis Cespedes left Wednesday’s game against the Cubs with a sore shoulder, and Terry Collins said during the game he had trouble lifting his arm up over his head as a result of the injury.
Cespedes received a cortisone shot on Thursday in New York, and was told to rest for 24 hours before resuming baseball activities.
He is expected to workout with the team on Saturday at Citi Field, the team said.
“He’s going to be fine,” Terry Collins said on Friday. “They asked him yesterday to not swing today, so I didn’t want him out there.”
