Jeurys Familia available on Sunday if needed
Jeurys Familia has made five appearances in the first six postseason games for the Mets in 2015. He’s logged 6 2/3 innings, faced 22 batters, retiring 20 of them.
He has worked more than one inning on three different occasions and recorded a six and a four-out save in his last two appearances with an off-day in between.
On Saturday night, Terry Collins said Familia’s availability was questionable for Sunday, but Familia declared himself ready to pitch if needed in game two of the NLCS.
The Mets will travel to Chicago and workout at Wrigley Field during Monday’s off-day, which could conceivably be playing a role into the closer’s availability on Sunday.
