Juan Uribe still rehabbing, not ready to play in the NLCS
Juan Uribe sustained a chest contusion nearly four weeks ago after diving to his left for a ball in a game against the Yankees at Citi Field.
He reinjured his chest five days later against the Reds on a check swing, and has not played since.
The Mets were originally hopeful Uribe would be available for the Division Series against the Dodgers, but he was not cleared for baseball activities before rosters had tobe submitted last Friday.
And as of now, Uribe still appears to be unable to play.
Terry Collins said on Friday at Citi Field Uribe is only in physical therapy rehabbing, and has not begun baseball activities as of yet.
As such, it would seem unlikely Uribe will be on the NLCS roster, which must be submitted to the league on Saturday, Sandy Alderson said on Friday.
Collins did not say if Uribe could progress enough to be available for the World Series, should the Mets advance.
