Ruben Tejada has a fractured leg
The Mets suffered a massive blow in the seventh inning, and that doesn’t include losing their lead.
On a critical and controversial play in the seventh inning, Chase Utley slid into Ruben Tejada and took him out of a potential double play.
In the process, Utley slid into Tejada’s leg, who was carted off the field a few moments later.
It was later determined Tejada suffered a fractured right fibula in his leg, and he will now miss the remainder of the season.
Wilmer Flores replaced Tejada in the seventh inning.
Tejada started each of the first two games of the Division Series. He went 0-for-2 in game two but reached base in a critical at-bat in the seventh inning of game one.
Tejada hit .261/.338/.350 in 2015. He hit .296 over his final 31 games in the regular season.
