Juan Uribe remains, ‘iffy’ for the NLDS

BaronJuan Uribe continues to recover slowly from a bruised best he sustained during the subway series two weeks ago at Citi Field.

He has not played since the series against the Reds in Cincinnati last week, and Terry Collins has said Uribe’s status has not changed significantly since re-aggravating the injury.

When asked about Uribe’s playoff status, Collins said on Sunday he remains, “iffy” for the Division Series.

Both Collins and Sandy Alderson have said they will wait until the last possible moment to make decisions on players like Uribe and Steven Matz, who is dealing with a sore back and is hopeful to pitch in the Instructional League on Port St. Lucie this week.

Thats too bad. He seems like a real spiritual connection to Mets resurgence, starting on July 25th. The Wilmer Flores moment aside. Everyone talks about his presence in the clubhouse and this offensive doldrum is weirdly timed with his latest break down.
