The Mets are sending five players to Port St. Lucie to play in the Instructional League.
Eric Campbell, Eric O’Flaherty, Anthony Recker, Bobby Parnell, and Eric Young Jr. will work in Florida in the event they need to serve as injury replacements in the playoffs.
None of these five players will be on the Division Series roster, the Mets said.
It’s still unclear if Steven Matz will be available in the Division Series. Terry Collins said he will also go to Port St. Lucie this week to pitch in the a Instructional League. If he gets through and recovers from that outing, he will likely be on the playoff roster.
