Wilmer Flores, Yoenis Cespedes likely unavailable on Friday

Cespedes FLores

BaronWhile the Mets rest and prepare for the playoffs, they’re dealing with some injury issues which they hope resolve themselves over the next eight days.

Terry Collins said after Thursday’s loss to the Phillies Wilmer Flores – who exited Wednesday’s game against the Phillies with back stiffness – continues to have discomfort and is unlikely to be available on Friday night against the Nationals.

But Flores told Mike Vorkunov of the Star Ledger he still expects to play this weekend at some point.

In addition, Yoenis Cespedes – who was hit by a pitch on his hand on Wednesday – is also likely to be unavailable on Friday.

Collins did not say if either would be available at any point this weekend, but seemed confident everyone would be ready for next Friday’s game against the Dodgers.

I certainly hope NOT everyone is available: not Parnell, nor Stauffer, not O’Flarerty, nor Verrett, not Niese either.
Maybe not Robbles. They are too many non-game changers or negatives gumming up the works. Terry can’t help himself, he’s like a box of chocolates- just can’t fathom taking just the one he knows is good- gotta try them all?
Stop Terry now, before he throws up,
I know I want to…Lets Go Mets⚾!.
