Tyler Clippard’s back is ok – available to pitch on Sunday
Tyler Clippard had been nursing some back tightness over the last four days, and was unavailable to pitch in the first two games against the Yankees.
But Terry Collins said on Sunday evening Clippard will indeed be available to pitch in relief on Sunday.
It couldn’t come at a better time for the Mets, since Matt Harvey will not pitch more than six innings in his start on Sunday.
They could need the bullpen to get 12 outs, and playing without Clippard would make such a task difficult, at best.
