Carlos Torres making progress from calf injury, but still a few days away
Carlos Torres injured his calf during last Monday’s series opener against the Nationals.
He was then fitted for a walking boot in an effort to isolate his calf with hopes healing could be accelerated.
And on Wednesday, Terry Collins said Torres is now out of the boot, and will throw a bullpen session at Citi Field tonight to test his calf muscle.
But even if Torres makes it through tonight’s session ok, Collins said he is still a few days away from returning to action.
Since rosters have expanded to 40 players, there was no need to place Torres on the disabled list after he was injured.
