Steven Matz’s blister a non-issue, set for his next start on Friday
Steven Matz left his start on Sunday in the sixth inning with a blister on a finger on his left hand.
He said after the game the blister was caught before it became too serious, and was confident he would make his next start against the Braves this Friday in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, Matz completed his bullpen without a hitch, and is set to make his next scheduled start as planned, according to reporters in Washington.
Matz has made only three big league starts in his career. He made his debut in early July against the Reds, then made another start against the Dodgers in Los Angeles before tearing the lat muscle on his left side, forcing him to the disabled list for two months.
