Mets recall Logan Verrett, Johnny Monell, Dilson Herrera from Triple-A Las Vegas
With the Las Vegas 51s season coming to a close on Monday, the Mets announced more additions to the active roster.
Logan Verrett, Johnny Monell and Dilson Herrera were all recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, the team announced on Monday evening.
Verrett is 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA (11 earned runs/32.1 innings) and 26 strikeouts in 14 major league games with Texas and New York this year. He went 5-3 with a 4.59 ERA (33 earned runs/64.2 innings) in 18 games, 11 starts with Las Vegas. He is expected to start for the Mets at some point soon.
Herrera hit .195 (16-82) with two home runs and four RBI in 25 games this season for the Mets. He batted .331 (107-323) with 68 runs scored, 23 doubles, 11 home runs and 50 RBI in 80 games for Las Vegas (AAA).
Monell hit .178 (8-45) with four RBI in 24 games with the Mets this year. In 71 games with Las Vegas, he batted .324 (83-256) with 51 RBI.
For now, neither Vic Black or Dillon Gee have been brought up, but presumably the Mets will make an additional roster move for their bullpen with Carlos Torres out indefinitely with a calf injury.
