Daniel Murphy expected to be active Monday in Washington
Daniel Murphy has been nursing a sore left quad in recent days, to the point he removed himself from Wednesday’s game against the Phillies and received a PRP injection to promote healing in the muscle.
He will likely sit for the duration of Sunday’s series finale against the Marlins, but Terry Collins said on Saturday he expects Murphy to be available for their series opener against the Nationals on Monday.
This is the same quad Murphy injured in early June in Arizona, which forced him to miss most of that month.
He said on Wednesday this is basically an extension of that injury, although it feels a lot better at this time than it did three months ago when he originally injured the muscle.
