Daniel Murphy day-to-day with a mild left quad strain
Daniel Murphy exited Wednesday’s game against the Phillies with soreness in his left quad muscle.
Murphy remained in New York to visit with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and was diagnosed with a mild strain in his left quad.
He is listed as day-to-day. His availability for Friday’s game against the Marlins in Miami is unknown.
Murphy missed most of the month of June with a similar injury. He said on Friday night this injury is related to that original injury, though it’s not close to as severe.
Murphy is hitting .282/.325/.430 with ten home runs and 58 RBI in 107 games this season.
