B-Mets OF Brandon Nimmo is ok after minor injury in Portland

BaronThe Mets got a small scare with one of their top prospects on Wednesday, but fortunately, a scare is all it was.

In the ninth inning of the Double-A Binghamton Mets 8-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in Portland, OF Brandon Nimmo was removed from the game after stepping awkwardly on second base and injuring his knee after doubling to center field.

Nimmo stepped awkwardly onto second base as he stopped on the bag, but a team official said Nimmo was ok and there was no cause for concern.

Nimmo went 2-for-4 on the night to improve his average to .284 for the year.
