Assuming these are the terms for a new contract, which deal would you rather the #Mets complete? (cc: @SotoC803)

A switch hitter, who can really hit LHP! And a guy you could plug into the lineup at 2B, 3B, DH, and the corner OF spots. Even at 34 years of age, he had an OPS+ of 120—and he has been well over 100 for most of his career. I like the overpay. Overall, he’s a much better fielder than Murphy.

It’s not my money, but, it’s hard to up the value of Murphy so much with only the outstanding playing performance in the Playoffs to justify it. Now with Zobrist, he has had a better long term performance. That justifies the investment, but at his age deterioration can come quickly. The Met’s history with such contracts has not been good. Zobrist is so versatile and can help at six positions. For a team constructed like the Met’s that’s worth a good part of the investment. So, they have to roll the dice and go with him.

Cabrera sounds like a better option at that price and for just two years.
