Next season, the ‘Pepsi Porch’ at Citi Field will no longer exist–in a matter of speaking.
After six seasons since the stadium opened, the Mets and Pepsi have agreed to sever their sponsorship deal, according to the Sports Business Journal.
This means that the iconic ‘Pepsi-Cola’ sign that has sat above the right field stands since 2009 will be absent from 2016 on, and that the ‘Pepsi Porch’ is going to need a new sponsor and more importantly, a new name.
Maybe the new name of the porch will wind up being even catchier, but I can’t say that I won’t miss Gary Cohen’s calls of home runs headed towards that old Pepsi Porch.

CitiField has way too much busy/ugly advertising and some of the brands aren’t even fit for a minor league ballpark. So of course they have to lose Pepsi, the cool looking sign, and the named ballpark feature of a “Pepsi Porch.”
That said, I’ll throw these names into the mix since I have nothing better to do:
– Subway Platform
– Delta Sky Deck
– Target Area
– Ford Landing
More likely names the Wilpons will choose:
– Bob’s Discount Furniture Balcony
– USA Petroleum Porch
– PC Richard & Son Porch
– Acme Plumbing Porch
– Law Firm of Weiss, Shapiro & Steinberg Landing
