Matt Harvey took a comebacker off his right arm in the top of the sixth inning of game one in the National League Championship Series on Saturday night.
He completed the next 1 1/3 innings before giving way to Jeurys Familia for a four-out save.
At the time, he said his arm was fine, and his ability to continue on in that game. But on Monday at Wrigley Field, Terry Collins said Harvey was receiving treatment for swelling and stiffness in his triceps thanks to taking the comebacker off his arm.
Collins said he was, “pretty surprised” Harvey’s arm swelled up as much as it did.
It’s his right arm, and there’s been plenty of controversy surrounding that right arm over the last six weeks as it is. The Mets will not take any risks if there’s any sign he’s dealing with discomfort.
But for now, Harvey is on course to start on schedule in game five of the NLCS on Thursday night if necessary.
“As we sit here today he is a go,” Collins explained. “But that could certainly change in next couple of days.”
Harvey also said after throwing at Wrigley Field on Monday is is good to go in game five.
Collins mentioned either Bartolo Colon or Jon Niese as alternatives in game five if need be.

t this point there is nothing that can stop him from starting game five( if necessary). He has himself all excited and wants to prove his worth. All the other “stuff” is now aside.
