Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen was admitted to an Atlanta hospital after suffering from an accelerated heartbeat on Thursday afternoon.
He spent the night in the hospital as a precaution, but he has rejoined the team and will serve as the club’s pitching coach on Friday night against the Braves.
A team spokesperson said Warthen’s accelerated heartbeat corrected itself overnight.
Warthen has been the pitching coach for the Mets since June, 2008 when he replaced Rick Peterson.
