As expected, Daniel Murphy is absent from Friday’s lineup against the Marlins as he deals with a mild strain in his left quad.
Terry Collins said Murphy will miss at least two games while he nurses the injury.
Murphy received a PRP injection in his quad muscle on Thursday, leaving him completely unavailable on Friday as its allowed to take effect.
In addition, Michael Cuddyer is out on Friday with tendinitis in his wrist.
Cuddyer, who began an anti-inflammatory regimen on Wednesday in New York, will temporarily wear a splint and continue with the medication over the next couple of days.
Cuddyer said he has been dealing with this condition for about a week.
Collins did not say if Cuddyer was available off the bench, or whether he’d be available the rest of the weekend.
