Matt Harvey feeling better after falling ill on Wednesday night

Matt Harvey suffered from weakness and dehydration during his start against the Phillies on Wednesday night at Citi Field.

He ultimately yielded four runs in 6 1/3 innings, with a noticeable drop in his fastball velocity throughout the outing despite striking out nine batters on the night.

Harvey stayed in New York last night and did not accompany the team on their charter to Miami.

The right-hander should be fine, and should be able to make his next scheduled start against the Nationals in Washington on Tuesday.

He will rejoin the team in Miami on Friday.

Harvey is 12-7 with a 2.60 ERA in 166 1/3 innings in 2015.

  1. So, he’s not going to Miami at all? Hmmmm?

  2. So why was he still sent out for the 7th inning? Didn’t yet have the magic pitch number of 100 to get pulled or was Collins afraid to put someone else in to relieve in the scary inning?
