David Wright continued his rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday evening against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.
However, after striking out looking in the first inning, his rehab game was short-circuited due to rain.
The game will resume in Jupiter this afternoon at 5:05 PM.
Wright is now 2-for-7 during his rehab assignment. He is expected to play in three straight games which is part of a ten-day program, according to Kristie Ackert of the Daily News. If there are no setbacks, Wright could be activated in a week when the Mets take on the Rockies in Denver.
Meanwhile, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who has been sidelined with a pinched nerve in his back, also began his rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday, serving as their starting centerfielder while drawing a walk in his only plate appearance.
Wright has been on the disabled list since April 15. Nieuwenhuis has been on the disabled list since August 2.
