After promoting Brandon Nimmo to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, the Mets signed utility infielder Vince Belnome to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Belnome, 27, had most recently been with Triple-A Durham in the Rays organization where he hit .169 with six RBI in 46 games with the Bulls.
He has spent seven years in the minor leagues with the Padres and Rays organizations, hitting .281/.395/.443 with 68 home runs and 367 RBI in 663 games.
