Rafael Montero is making progress in his rehab from a right rotator cuff strain, albeit very slow progress.
Montero made his first appearance for the GCL Mets in six days on Monday at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, and threw three scoreless innings of relief while allowing three hits and striking out four.
It was his second appearance with the GCL Mets.
Montero has been on the major league disabled list since April 29. He was optioned following his start against the Marlins on April 28, but due to the injury being sustained in the big leagues, the option was rescinded. He has been accumulating major league service time while on the disabled list.
