19-year-old RHP Merandy Gonzalez threw a seven inning no-hitter For the GCL Mets in their 1-0 win over the GCL Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida today.
Gonzalez improved to 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA for the GCL Mets in 2015.
Gonzalez was signed as a 17-year-old out of the Dominican Republic in 2013, having spent the first two seasons of his young career in the Dominican Summer League. He is 8-5 with a 3.13 ERA in 30 appearances and 15 starts in his professional career to date.
He has amassed a total of 123 innings in his professional career.
