Erik Goeddel had been pitching through significant discomfort in his seemingly robotic right elbow for much of the early part of the season. But on June 12, that pain got to a point he could no longer tolerate, was placed on the disabled list and shutdown from throwing for a duration.
But three weeks later, Goeddel has begun a throwing program at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie, and according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, is throwing at 120 feet and could be back on a mound in four or five days.
There is still no timetable for Goeddel to return. He underwent an MRI upon landing on the disabled list, but the findings were inconclusive.
