Last night on the team’s flight to Los Angeles, their plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Detroit because Howie Rose, the voice of the a Mets on WOR 710 radio, fell ill while in-flight.
Howie is feeling better, but will instead return to New York and rejoin the Mets on the next home stand, the station said in a statement.
The nature of Howie’s condition was not disclosed.
Members of the media affiliated with SNY and WOR routinely travel with the team on their charter flights.
