Mets trade minor league pitcher for international slot pool money

BaronThe Mets made a trade to to acquire more bonus pool money in international free agency.

The club announced they traded RHP Gaither Bumgardner to the Angles for international bonus pool slot 90 on Thursday night, the club announced.

Bumgardner was currently in his third season in the Mets organization after being selected in the 23rd round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of the University of South Carolina – Upstate. For his career, the 24-year-old righthander is 4-4 with a 3.84 ERA in 36 career games, all in relief. Most recently, the Great Falls, SC native was 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA (2 ER / 7.0 IP) in three games with Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League.
