Daniel Murphy made his final tune up with the St. Lucie Mets today, going 1-for-3 in the Mets 6-0 loss to the Tampa Yankees at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
I’ve heard some buzz Murphy is not quite 100 percent which is why the club kept him on his rehab assignment. But he has more or less play complete games at third base while on rehab and his swing appears to be fine based on the results.
The Mets need him and now. So whether he’s perfectly healthy or not, it sounds like he’s still on track to be activated on Tuesday.
Murphy went 7-for-15 during his rehab assignment with St. Lucie.
