Daniel Murphy plays in third rehab game

By Michael Baron, MLB.com:

The Mets are expecting Daniel Murphy to be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday when they face the Cubs at Citi Field.

In the meantime, he is continuing his rehab assignment with the St. Lucie Mets this weekend.

Murphy played in his third rehab game for St. Lucie on Saturday night against the Tampa Yankees at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, and he went 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in the Mets 3-1 win over the Yankees.

He played all nine innings at third base.

Murphy is 6-for-12 in three games during his rehab assignment.

Murphy has been on the disabled list since June 5 after straining his quad.
