Daniel Murphy now expected to return on Tuesday

BaronDaniel Murphy has played two rehab games at third base for Single-A, going 4-for-8 so far on his assignment.

On Saturday afternoon at Citi Field, Terry Collins said Murphy will play for St. Lucie again tonight, and the club is hopeful he can return Tuesday against the Cubs.

It’s clear the Mets are following a similar protocol to that of their other players, which is to get them up to 20-25 at-bats before rejoining the club.

The thing is, they’re not scoring runs, not hitting, and not getting on base. So unless Murphy is not yet 100 percent, the Mets really can’t afford to have a healthy Murphy absent from their lineup.

  1. We need Murphy now AND we’re going to need to RESIGN him for next year as well.
Even if 💖DW does make it back , he’s gonna need to take it EZ, be semi-platooned with MURPH🍀
