Rich MacLeodMLB Network announced today that both Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo will represent the Mets at this year’s All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati.

This will certainly bring some excitement for Mets fans come the All-Star break, as normally the only Mets that are represented in the Future’s Game, at least in recent years, have been pitchers. It’ll be a nice change of pace to see some of the team’s top young hitters on the big stage come July.

Michael Conforto is hitting .302/.381/.494 with 20 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 41 RBI, 32 walks an an .875 OPS in 68 games this season in the minors, where he’s spent time with Single-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton.

Brandon Nimmo is hitting .300/.371/.411 with 10 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 13 RBI, 17 walks and a .782 OPS in 44 games in Double-A. Nimmo missed a little over a month due to a sprained ACL in his left knee.
