Last week, Sandy Alderson said Daniel Murphy was expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday night in Milwaukee.
However, it would seem Murphy’s return could be delayed, as Terry Collins hinted to reporters on Sunday Murphy might not return on Tuesday as originally anticipated.
Collins did not divulge the reason for delaying Murphy’s return, although there is nothing serious ailing Murphy, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York – he just needs more time to complete his rehab.
Murphy is expected to return sometime next weekend, reports Rubin.
If Murphy is healthy, the Mets should activate him. So, it’s logical to conclude Murphy simply is not 100 percent yet and they aren’t saying it publicly.
Murphy has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 5 with a strained quadriceps muscle.
One response to “Daniel Murphy’s return could be delayed”
It better not be because they are TRADING MURPH?! Boy, they need him now, with Wright gone, they’re gonna need him NEXT YEAR TOO.
