Mets vs BravesHere’s what I am looking for from the Mets:

Pick up the pieces, and move on.

Friday night was brutal. It was about as brutal as last Saturday’s loss to the Braves in New York. The Mets just need to hit the reset button, move forward after last night, and find a way to play better in the gray uniforms this year. A nice, comfortable win tonight with a lot of runs would go a long way towards relaxing the Mets. They need a nice easy win without complications and without drama late, especially since Jeurys Familia is unavailable tonight.

Do everyone a favor and start hitting.

The fact of the matter is they’ve scored two runs since the third inning on Tuesday against Toronto, a span of 33 innings. They can botch all the plays they want on the infield, Terry Collins can make all the questionable calls he wants with the bullpen too – they aren’t winning games if they are going to score two runs every four days.

It’s time for the Mets to bust out of this malaise they’re in with the bats and start hitting. Go get it.

Happy #ThorsDay.

Syndergaard pitched a really nice game against the Blue Jays on Monday after a couple of inconsistent and uneven starts in his two outings prior. He got a lot of swings and misses last Monday, something which he didn’t do in his previous start despite having good stuff. I’d like to see today serve as another building block off his fantastic outing on Monday, go deep into the game and miss bats with his tantalizing stuff. He throws 100 mph with his fastball – with that curveball of his, there should be no reason he shouldn’t rack up the strikeouts against a depleted Braves lineup tonight.
