The Mets did not say if they would begin commemorating Mr. Doubleday with an arm band or patch on their uniform at that time.
Mr. Doubleday passed away from pneumonia at the age of 81 on Wednesday.

One response to “Mets to have a moment of silence for Nelson Doubleday before next Friday’s game”
Unreal! It was Doubleday as principal owner who brought the Mets from the brink of deRoulet/Grant to its only World Series title in the past 29 seasons. Petty, shall move by the Wilpons.
