Here’s what I’m looking for tonight from the Mets:
Did the Mets sleep ok?
It was another late night in the air for the Mets as they sojourned from Toronto to Atlanta very early this morning. They had a late night the other night as well, and it seemed to be a part of last night’s post game discussion in the clubhouse and manager office. Hopefully, the Mets are a little more bright eyed tonight and this weekend as they take on a Braves team who will simply not go away, which is partly the Mets doing.
Did the Mets pick their bats up from Citi Field on the way to Atlanta?
The Mets offense was painfully absent in their two games in Toronto over the weekend, but hopefully it’s more prevalent beginning tonight it what is really an important first game in this series for the Mets. But with the offense slumbering, an improved approach for contact and going the other way might help revitalize their bats, but it would be nice to see some mobility and improved situational hitting as well.
Mets need Jacob deGreat tonight.
He’s the co-ace for the Mets, and they need him to serve as a stopper to not only get the Mets off the schnide, but to keep the Braves down and push them further out of reach. The Mets are 5-3 against Atlanta this year but 1-2 at Turner Field, a building which usually brings out the worst in them. Good pitching from their horse would be helpful.
Oh, and happy 27th birthday, Jake!
