This is Harvey’s first career start against Toronto.

This is Copeland’s first career star t against the Mets.
Here is what I am looking for tonight from the Mets:
It’s #HarveyDay.
I sure hope the hash tag hasn’t lost all of it’s luster because he’s struggled lately. It’s a big start for the Mets co-ace tonight, as he’s allowed eight home runs en route to a 7.20 ERA in his last four starts. He was angry after his last start when he got shelled by the Giants, saying several times he had “work to do” to get back to being the dominate ace he is capable of being. He seems to be in good spirits this week, but I am sure he and Dan Warthen are working to get him back to that fierce level he was at both physically and mentally. It will be interesting to see if he has the fire Terry Collins said last week he needed to find, and if he can come out, challenge the Toronto hitters and shut them down like Noah Syndergaard did last night.
Don’t be lethargic.
The Mets have had two energetic wins in as many days, and it’s easy for the Mets to go out there a little flat and lethargic after spending a lot of energy to win these past two games. But, they can head to Toronto with a winning home stand if they can find a way to win tonight, and need just one up at Rogers Centre to win this home-and-home series. It starts with Harvey of course, but they can’t afford to make any defensive mistakes and give these Blue Jays extra outs to play with – they can pulverize the Mets in a hurry if they do.
Gain some momentum.
These two wins can act as a nice upswing for the Mets, as it’s taken a lot of guts and character to get it done over the last couple of days. Perhaps these games will serve as a turning point for the Mets as they continue towards what looks like will be a pennant race down the stretch of the season. Winning tonight would help that cause.
