The Mets trailed 8-3 on Sunday but rallied to defeat the Braves 10-8 to take their first series since sweeping the Phillies May 25-27.
Here are some notes from Sunday’s win:
- The last time the Mets came back from a deficit of five or more runs was September 22, 2011 at St. Louis.
- The Mets won a game where they allowed at least eight runs for the first time since August 8, 2011 in New York’s 9-8 win against San Diego.
- Coming into today, the Mets had the longest active drought in the majors without winning a game when allowing eight runs or more.
- The Mets are now 23-12 vs. the NL East this season, including 18-6 at home. The Mets’ .657 divisional winning percentage is the second-best mark among all major league teams. St. Louis has a .704 against the NL Central.
- The Mets hit a season-high tying four home runs today. They have done it three times and last on June 7 at Arizona.
- The four home runs also tied the most the Mets have hit in a game at Citi Field.
