The Mets will look to even their series against the Giants tonight at 7:10 PM at Citi Field.
Here is tonight’s starting lineup for New York:
Curtis Granderson – RF
Ruben Tejada – 2B
Lucas Duda – 1B
Michael Cuddyer – LF
Wilmer Flores – SS
Travis d’Arnaud – C
Juan Lagares – CF
Eric Campbell – 3B
Matt Harvey – RHP
Here is tonight’s pitching matchup:
Matt Harvey will start for the Mets.
Tim Hudson will start for the Giants.
Here is what I am looking for from the Mets tonight:
A hit. Preferably runs too.
The Mets haven’t had a hit since Darrell Ceciliani singled in the eighth inning on Sunday in Phoenix. So it would be nice if the Mets actually got a hit, preferably several and coupled with multiple runs tonight.
It’s time to turn the page, hit the reset button and look forward and not back. I know the players are, so we should do the same.
The lineup gets a much. Ended boost with the return of d’Arnaud tonight. Mets catchers hit .183 in his absence, so presumably he can be at least better than that.
But the Mets also need the guys who have been here to step up too. They’re facing a championship team and a grizzly veteran in Tim Hudson is on the mound for them tonight, and he is and always has been a tough customer.
Speaking of Travis d’Arnaud…
It’s been a while since we saw d’Arnaud, 51 days to be exact. It will be worth watching to see if he has to shake off some rust, if he’s over-anxious and tries to do too much, etc.
As nice a job as Kevin Plawecki did in d’Arnaud’s absence, it’s nice to have d’Arnaud back.
It’s #HarveyDay.
There isn’t a better pitcher for the Mets to have on the mound tonight than their co-ace, Matt Harvey. He pitched with a little attitude in his last outing last Thursday, as he got angry and was tired of losing.
He’s as good a guy as anyone to help change the conversation from the no-hitter last night, and certainly a capable pitcher to do it himself of not today, then at some point during his promising career.
One response to “What to look for: Giants vs. Mets, 7:10 PM”
You are right to suggest (we all) hitting the reset button… It’s Harvey Day, so there’s that to egg us on…but- I still want to see the Mets make a trade for
And add some of the David Wright INSURANCE MONEY to secure a Major League BAT before the end of this homestand.
