Travis d’Arnaud to be activated on Wednesday, Dilson Herrera later

Travis d'Arnaud 1 slice

BaronTravis d’Arnaud went 0-for-3 in what was likely his final rehab game before flying to New York and being activated from the disabled list on Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas.

But even though he might be ready to be activated, Terry Collins said on Tuesday the Mets might wait to activate him until Thursday, instead of having him play after flying home on a red-eye from Las Vegas tonight.

However, the Mets announced d’Arnaud will in fact be activated in time for tomorrow’s game against the Giants.

Presumably, that means Plawecki will be returned to Las Vegas before tomorrow’s game.

It makes sense to activate d’Arnaud tomorrow, especially since Kevin Plawecki is clearly dealing with an extended illness and the Mets are now once again short.

Meanwhile, Dilson Herrera went 2-for-4 for Las Vegas out of the lead off spot. He will not be rejoining the Mets on Wednesday.

D’Arnaud has been on the disabled list since April 20 with a broken finger. Herrera has been on the disabled list since May 15, also with a broken finger.
