After pitching five scoreless innings in as many outings for the Binghamton Mets, Vic Black is taking the next step in his return to the big leagues.
The team has announced Black has departed Binghamton and will report to Triple-A Las Vegas to continue his rehab assignment.
Still, it’s not clear when Black will return to the Mets. Terry Collins recently said it was possible both Black and Bobby Parnell (who remains in Binghamton) could remain on their rehab assignments for an entire 30 days (around June 15), the maximum number of days a pitcher can be on a rehab assignment.
Black has been on the 15-day disabled list all year with weakness in his arm caused by a herniated disc in his neck.
