Vic Black continued his slow journey back to the big leagues on Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium.
Black pitched another scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout in the B-Mets 6-4 loss to the Trenton Thunder on Tuesday.
Black has now pitched five scoreless innings in as many appearances during his second rehab stint with the B-Mets. He has pitched back-to-back days, but not since May 25-26.
On Monday, Terry Collins said it was possible both Black and Bobby Parnell could remain on their rehab assignments for an entire 30 days, the maximum number of days a pitcher can be on a rehab assignment.
Black’s first rehab appearance was on May 16 for the St. Lucie Mets, meaning he could be either activated in mid-June or shutdown again, depending on his progress.
Black has been on the 15-day disabled list all year with weakness in his arm caused by a herniated disc in his neck.
