  2. He was worth every penny. Let me guess: for all that money, he didn’t take us to the World Series, so the contract was a bust. Even if he won every single game he pitched, we STILL wouldn’t have won as he was the victim of next-to-no run support many of his starts. One man can’t win it alone and Johan was no exception. He did, however, pitch his heart out every single time he took the mound and for that alone, he was worth it. No better representative to pitch our first no-hitter, either, considering the shoulder injury he suffered and the rehab he endured after his surgery. The man is an iconic Met and I’ll always love him!

  3. Even if the instant replay rule were in effect, the Cardinals wouldn’t have been able to challenge the 3rd-base umpire’s call on the ball Carlos Beltran hit in the sixth inning. The call doesn’t fall under the rules for challenging the play.
