Some of the injured Mets have begun to make progress towards returning to action, Terry Collins said at Petco Park on Monday afternoon.
Dilson Herrera has begun some light baseball activities at the team’s minor league complex in Port St. Lucie. He has started some light hitting and is throwing for the first time since breaking his finger on May 15.
There is still no timetable for Herrera to return.
Meanwhile, Rafael Montero has progressed his throwing program and is now throwing off a mound in Port St. Lucie. He strained his rotator cuff following a spot start on April 28 in Miami, and remains on the major league disabled list.
Collins said Travis d’Arnaud began baseball activities in Port St. Lucie today, and he is hopeful d”Arnaud can resume his rehab assignment this week.
Lastly, Buddy Carlyle, who strained his back in Chicago on May 12, is also mostly idle at the moment.
