Here’s what I am looking for tonight:
Keep the good times rolling.
The offense has come to life in the last three games, the pitching has been excellent again, and the team really played well defensively in their last series as well. They have a difficult road trip coming up against the Padres and Diamondbacks, so it would be nice if the Mets can head out west on a high note with a series win this weekend.
It’s #HarveyDay.
And a notable one at that. Why? Because he is coming off his worst career start and might have been suffering through a period of dead arm. Dan Warthen and Terry Collins are confident he snapped out of it this week and that he will right the ship tonight. But, he’ll have to do it against a team he’s historically struggled against in his career, so he has two challenges to overcome tonight.
Don’t back down.
The Mets have played really well against the National League East so far this year, something they’ve generally struggled to do in recent seasons. The did lose their last series against Miami at Marlins Park after sweeping them in four games ten days earlier at Citi Field back in April – it would be prudent to get back on the horse and take care of business against a team that has really struggled in their division.
