Travis d’Arnaud has begun a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie, going 0-for-6 with an RBI in two games in as many days.

However, Sandy Alderson said d’Arnaud experienced pain in his right wrist during his rehab game on Thursday, and was diagnosed with a bone bruise.

D’Arnaud was soon expected to depart for Las Vegas to join the 51s as he completes his rehab assignment, and return to the Mets when they play the Padres in San Diego early next week – his return will now be delayed.

On Friday afternoon, Terry Collins told reporters d’Arnaud will need 20-25 total at-bats during his rehab assignment, after which he will re-join the team.

D’Arnaud has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 20 with a broken finger.
