Bobby Parnell joined the Double-A Binghamton Mets last Sunday, and has since made two outings allowing a hit, a walk and two strikeouts in two innings.
Parnell’s velocity was reportedly in the mid-90s, something Terry Collins said he was pleased about during his afternoon talk with reporters on Friday.
“It was a huge step forward,” Collins said of Parnell’s velocity.
Collins did not offer a timetable for Parnell to return – he remains with Double-A Binghamton on their road trip to Altoona.
Parnell has been on the 15-day disabled list as he continues his recovery from Tommy John Surgery.
