The Mets added some depth to the lower levels of their organization on Thursday, announcing they’ve signed RHP Casey Delgado to a minor league contract.
Delgado, 24, has never pitched in organized professional baseball. He has spent two-plus years playing independent ball in the Frontier League. He is 10-13 with a 3.24 ERA in 36 appearances and 34 starts, having allowed only seven home runs in 194 innings.
Delgado has been assigned to Single-A Savannah of the South Atlantic League.
